Step 1
First, read through the complete sections, so that you get a good picture of the work you need to do.
Step 2
You will work in groups of four. Each one of you is going to be a different reporter. Each reporter has his or her own assignment. Each reporter will do research on his or her own subject. Click on your own assignment below and you will get more detailed information on how to go about your task.
Step 3
Exchange your articles with the other members of your group. You may do this via e-mail. Every member should read the articles of all of the other three members. While reading, you decide what you think about these articles. Look at the following points:
Do you understand what it is about?
Are there any spelling, grammar, etc. mistakes?
Check if any of the information given in the articles is different from what you have found out during your research.
Do you think this article is suitable for the newspaper or would you make any changes?
Write down your feedback (this can also be in an E-mail) and give it to the person who wrote the article. This means that you have to write three feedback forms.
Step 4
Look at the feedback you have gotten from the other three reporters. Correct any mistakes you have made and make the final draft of your article.
Step 5
Put together the newspaper, including:
All four articles (final drafts)
The name of the newspaper The British Bundle and the date (25th of December 1492)
Any suitable pictures you may have found
For extra credit, you can also add advertisements that would fit in a newspaper from the year 1492.
